Walden Pond Homeowners Association Board Meeting

Call to Order at 5:05 p.m.
Minutes from April meeting were read and approved as written.

Introductions and Presentation:
- Harold White was introduced as the new property manager. He has not yet received financial information from Phyllis Cone and, thus, was unable to prepare a financial report.
- Office Paylor, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, made a brief statement regarding the protocol for establishing a Neighborhood Watch committee in Walden Pond . Block captains need to be selected (probably two people per court). In the meantime, he suggested the following as priorities:
- Know your neighbors
- Know what's normal – call 911 if concerned
- Pay attention to what's going on
- Record information (serial and model numbers) of big-ticket items – take photographs of them as well
- Lighting and motion detectors deter thieves
Old Business:
- Grove Park retaining wall project. Grove Park residents/owners were invited to attend the meeting and five people came. Two estimates for this project were received from [omitted for online minutes]
- $12,000 to $14,000 to remove the wall and replace with a new wall up and over the old wall
- $18,000 to install a concrete wall
The concrete wall would encroach further into lots on Grove Park . Residents did not want a special assessment.
Don asked Harold to solicit bids and to get an engineer to look at the structure.
- Powerwashing Update: Letters will be distributed and Laura will go door to door to ask residents to allow contractor to fill water tanks.

- 34 Georgetown area: grass is patchy
New Business:
- Motion was made and seconded to establish the Appearance and Maintenance Committee and to appoint Paul Caruth and Steve Williams as non-voting members of the Board and co-chairs of this committee
- A new Safety and Security Committee was established to periodically assess safety issues and to advise the Board. Steve Williams was appointed chairperson.
Executive Session:
The Board went into Executive Session to discuss delinquent accounts and other matters. Community members were excused.
