Walden Pond Homeowners Association Board Meeting
February 28, 2007
Present:
Board Directors : Laura Atkinson, Don Barry, Edison McIntyre
Property Agent : Frankie Johnson
Community Members : Sarah Wright, Steve Williams, M.L., R.A.
Call to Order at 7:00 p.m.
Homeowner Concerns
- Electricity outages
- Trailers and storage units parked in Walden Pond
- Astor Court break-ins
Old Business:
- Grove Park retaining wall - unanimous vote to use ___ engineering firm which had the lowest of two bids (a third company would not return phone calls).
- Entrance sign lighting - unanimous vote to use ___ which had the lowest of three bids.
- Paving - Durbin is a good court to start with but we need an engineering company's evaluation of the earth underneath the pavement. A unanimous vote was taken to move forward with the two retaining walls (Durbin and Grove Park) and have ___ at the same time evaluate Durbin and Georgetown for drainage and underground problems before repaving.
- We need to continue to emphasize the importance of homeowners getting the HOA added as an interested party to their homeowner's insurance, as highlighted by the recent fire at a townhome community in Raleigh.
- Parking lot line repainting - we will proceed with all lots except Grove Park since it will need to be repaved as soon as the retaining wall is complete.
- Sarah Wright raised the idea of having some sort of community Earth Day activities.
New Business:
- A unanimous vote was taken to reappoint Steve Williams as the Chair of the Maintenance and Aesthetics Committee and to reappoint Sarah Wright as Secretary if she accepts. Steve Williams was still present at this point in the meeting and accepted his reappointment.
Executive Session
Adjournment: 8:28 p.m.
